Folding and Ironing: Tips for a Fresh and Wrinkle-Free Wardrobe!

Fold

1. T-shirts and Tops :
- Standard Method :
1. Lay the T-shirt flat with the front facing down.
2. Fold the right sleeve towards the center of the shirt.
3. Fold the left sleeve towards the center of the shirt.
4. Fold the T-shirt in half lengthwise.
5. Then fold it in thirds from top to bottom.

- Marie Kondo Method :
1. Lay the T-shirt flat with the front facing up.
2. Fold one third of the right side towards the center.
3. Fold the right sleeve back out.
4. Fold one third of the left side towards the center.
5. Fold the left sleeve back out.
6. Fold the T-shirt in half lengthwise, with the bottom folded towards the top.
7. Then fold it in thirds from top to bottom, so that the T-shirt can stand upright.


2. Pants and Jeans :
- Standard Method :
1. Lay the pants flat with the front facing up.
2. Fold the trouser legs over each other.
3. Fold the pants in half lengthwise.
4. Then fold it again widthwise.

- Marie Kondo Method :
1. Lay the pants flat with the front facing up.
2. Fold one pant leg over the other.
3. Fold the pants in half lengthwise, folding the waistband towards the ankle.
4. Then fold it into thirds or fourths, depending on the length of the pants, so that it can stand upright.


3. Shirts :
- Standard Method :
1. Button the shirt and place it face down.
2. Fold the sleeves over the body of the shirt.
3. Fold the shirt in thirds from top to bottom.

- Marie Kondo Method :
1. Button the shirt and place it face up.
2. Fold the right side of the shirt to the center.
3. Fold the right sleeve back out and then down along the side.
4. Repeat with the left side and left sleeve.
5. Fold the shirt in half lengthwise, folding the bottom toward the collar.
6. Then fold it in thirds so that the shirt can stand upright.


To smoothe

1. Temperature setting :
- Set the iron temperature based on the fabric type: low for synthetics, medium for cotton and high for linen and cotton blends.
- Always check the garment label for the correct setting.

2. Steam use :
- Use steam to remove stubborn wrinkles and provide a smoother finish.
- Make sure the iron has enough water for continuous steam.

3. Ironing order :
- Start with the sleeves, followed by the collar and torso, and finish with the bottom of the garment.
- Always iron on the inside of delicate fabrics to avoid shine.

- Use an ironing mat or a thin cloth between the iron and delicate fabrics to prevent damage.
