WHICH WASH CYCLE?

Four checks before you start

01

Read every care label

A mixed load can only be washed together when every item permits the chosen temperature and treatment.

02

Sort carefully

Separate light, coloured and dark laundry. Keep new, colour-releasing and delicate items apart.

03

Do not automatically wash hotter

The number on the label is a maximum. Choose a lower temperature only when the detergent, soil level and any hygiene needs allow it.

04

Follow the machine instructions

Cycle names, maximum loads and spin speeds vary by washing machine. The manual therefore remains part of the decision.

FACT-BASED

What the advice is based on

The guide translates the maximum temperature and process strength you enter into a careful household setting. The tool cannot remotely assess a specific appliance, garment or wash result.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About choosing wash cycles

Can everything with the same care label be washed together?

Not always. Also sort by colour, material, soil level and construction. Check that the maximum load for the selected cycle is not exceeded.

Is Eco 40–60 the same as washing at exactly 40 or 60°C?

No. Eco 40–60 is a standardised programme for normally soiled cotton laundry that the care label says can be washed at 40 or 60°C. The programme name does not indicate one constant water temperature.

Should heavily soiled laundry always be washed hotter?

No. Pretreat suitable stains and follow the care label. Do not exceed the maximum temperature; also check detergent dosage, load and available cycle options.

What should I do if I cannot read the care label?

Do not start based on a guess. Consult the manufacturer or seek professional help, especially for valuable, coated, lined or very delicate garments.
