Practical laundry guide
Laundry capsules make dosing straightforward, but the care label, load size and chosen programme still determine how the textile should be washed. This guide explains the order of use and the decisions to make before starting the machine.
With dry hands, place the capsule at the bottom of the empty drum, add the sorted laundry and select the programme from the most sensitive care label. For FashFresh, one capsule is the current guidance for a normal load of up to approximately 5 kg; check the packaging for larger or heavily soiled loads.
How to use a laundry capsule
- Read the care labels. Separate items that require a different programme or lower maximum temperature.
- Place the recommended number of capsules in the empty drum. Put them at the bottom before adding the laundry and follow the dosing guidance on the packaging.
- Add the sorted laundry. Leave enough room for the textiles to move during the cycle.
- Select the programme. Let the most sensitive item in the load determine the programme and maximum temperature.
- Start with dry hands. Close the pack immediately and store it safely away from children.
Choosing the dose
Always follow the instructions on the packaging. For FashFresh, the current guidance is one capsule for a normal load up to approximately 5 kg. The packaging guidance explains when a larger or heavily soiled load may require a second capsule.
Water hardness, load size and soil level can affect detergent needs. Avoid making a general rule for another brand based on the FashFresh guidance.
Choose the programme and temperature from the care label
The number inside the wash-tub symbol is the maximum washing temperature for that textile. A line beneath the symbol indicates a milder cycle. FashFresh capsules can be used in programmes from 15°C to 90°C, but the textile label determines which temperature is appropriate for the load.
Sort white, coloured and dark laundry where needed, close zips and empty pockets. A lower temperature may be sufficient for lightly soiled everyday laundry. Use a higher temperature only when the care label permits it and the situation calls for it.

- Putting a standard capsule in the detergent drawer instead of the drum.
- Placing the capsule on top of a tightly packed load.
- Overfilling the drum, leaving too little room for movement and rinsing.
- Choosing the programme from habit rather than checking the care label.
